As we understand that you might want to know how much strain is involved in our travel experiences, we’ve decided to give each one a physical rating. This will give you an idea of how demanding your trip will be:
Level 1 - Moderate
Only easy activities are included and no real physical preparation is required.
Level 2 – Reasonable
These travel experiences will include physical activities such as; walking, hiking, horseback riding and cycling - so you’ll want to have a reasonable level of fitness. They might also include farm work activities. These optional activities will usually last anything from 2 to 4 hours.
Level 3 – Legendary
You will need to be pretty fit for these type of experiences. Expect plenty of challenges in difficult conditions.
We know that you may have a query or two about stepping out of your comfort zone, so we’ve given each trip a local culture-shock rating:
Level 1 – Comfortable
You will feel comfortable and be able to relate to most things. Some local people may speak English.
Level 2 – New Comfort Zone
Expect to step out of your comfort zone. You must be open-minded throughout the trip. You might be exposed to a different culture and lifestyle which might shock you, so the level of local interaction will be important. Some local people may speak English.
Level 3 – Local
It might be difficult to find and English speaker. Access to some services such as electricity may be sporadic and hygiene standards different to what you are used to.
